LifeStance mental health opens new south Overland Park clinic

A new outpatient mental health care office in south Overland Park looks to break down the stigma often experienced by those seeking such care.

Operating on the second floor of the Southridge Medical office building at 12541 Foster St., near St. Luke’s South Hospital, LifeStance Health, opened in September.

“It’s our mission to create a healthier mental health environment in the community here,” Kimberly Belloff, operations director for LifeStance in Kansas, said. “We know that a lot of people are struggling and it’s not something that we are comfortable talking about sometimes.”

Their hope is to eventually expand with more locations in the Kansas City area, including across State Line.

LifeStance in Overland Park offers multiple mental health services

  • Geared toward patients of all ages and backgrounds, LifeStance has talk therapy options.
  • The office offers medication management with psychiatrists, as well.
  • In-person and telehealth appointments are also available. Appointments are available on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • “We know that there are resources that this community needs,” Belloff said. “We just want to make sure that everyone knows that we’re here to help with whatever journey our patients are on.”

LifeStance is growing

  • First opening in 2017, the mental health care provider currently operates in more than 30 states in the U.S. In all, it has roughly 600 offices and more than 6,000 providers.
  • “The need for mental health support is tremendous in this country, so they have expanded very quickly, and we’re continuing to expand,” Belloff said.
  • LifeStance also has an office at 8400 W 110th St., in Overland Park in the Executive Hills office park.
  • LifeStance expects to open another Kansas location in the next few months as well, Belloff said. This one, which should be ready to serve patients by the end of 2023, will be in Lawrence.
