New Overland Park Whole Foods set to open next month

The long-anticipated new Whole Foods Market near 119th Street and Metcalf Avenue is set to open next month.

The new store, which replaces an existing Whole Foods in Overland Park, will open on Wednesday, Nov. 15, in the Overland Crossing shopping center.

Whole Foods store on Metcalf was in the works for years

New Overland Park Whole Foods will feature local brands

  • Carrie Rodgers, a spokesperson for Whole Foods, said in an email that the new store will sell more than 750 local products and brands.
  • That includes products from Messner Bee Farm, Fire Lake Soapery, Two Niles Co. and Grace’s Best.
  • The new Whole Foods in Overland Park will also sell Matcha Morita tortilla chips from Yoli Tortilleria, winner of the James Beard Award in 2023 for Outstanding Bakery.
  • “I am thrilled to share some of our favorite products made by locals right here in Kansas and Missouri,” said Darcy Landis, principal local forager for Whole Foods, in an email. “We are celebrating our new store with great longtime partners as well as new suppliers that we’re so excited to work with.”

  • PGA Tour Superstore expects to take over the space some time next year.
