A plant-based meal company’s first brick-and-mortar restaurant in Johnson County is finally taking shape.
Healthy eatery Whole Harvest Kitchen intends to wrap up construction and open its doors in south Leawood at the end of November.
Whole Harvest Kitchen is coming to Leawood’s Town Center Plaza
- The restaurant will occupy a space at 4853 W. 117th St. on the east end of the southern Leawood shopping center.
- It will neighbor vitamin and supplement store GNC at the shopping center.
- Whole Harvest Kitchen will operate from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
The restaurant will serve plant-based and oil free meals
- The Whole Harvest Kitchen menu will feature items like salads, sandwiches, pizzas and wraps.
- Owners said all of it will be plant-based, with limited animal products and no oils.
- In addition to food — including a range of grab-and-go options — Whole Harvest Kitchen will serve zero proof cocktails — which are also plant-based and do not contain alcohol.
- The restaurant will have 71 indoor seats and a patio with 20 outdoor seats for dine-in service as well.
Whole Harvest started out as a meal delivery service
- The company — which primarily operates out of North Kansas City, Missouri, and Denver, Colorado — mainly offers weekly delivered meals for customers to heat and eat at home.
- This marks Whole Harvest’s first restaurant, though the company launched as a meal delivery service in 2018.
- The company plans to expand with more locations across the Kansas City metro and the country.
