Local nonprofit SevenDays is on the lookout for “extraordinarily kind” and artistic high school students who could be good contenders for scholarships.
The Overland Park-based organization has opened submissions for its annual Kindness Action Scholarship.
Submissions must come from high school students in the Kansas City metro who have completed a project that promotes kindness in the community.
To put their name in the ring, students must submit an essay about the project and photos or a video. The deadline is Jan. 12, and the five winners of the contest will each get $1,000.
SevenDays has also opened its Button Art Competition for 2024. For this contest, local high school students must create original button designs for eight different themes. The themes include
Each of the contest’s eight winners will get $500. The deadline for submissions is 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 15.
