A sprawling golf course in Olathe is now home to a new bar and grill.
Crush officially opened to the public Thursday on the grounds of the Prairie Highlands Golf Club following a grand opening event with golf club members Wednesday night.
Crush operates at 14695 S. Inverness St.
- The golf club is owned by GreatLife KC, and though the golf club itself is membership-based, Crush is open to the public.
- Upscale eatery Silo Modern Farmhouse, located on the grounds of the Canyon Farms Golf Club in Lenexa, shares the same ownership (and is also open to the public).
- Crush is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Crush serves American cuisine and craft cocktails
The Crush menu features “bar and grill” classics like Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, Cobb salads, roasted jalapeño cheeseburgers and “Detroit style” pizzas.
On weekends, the restaurant will also offer a breakfast menu with items like French toast, breakfast burritos, avocado toast and veggie scrambles.
“We have something for everybody,” said Ed Brownell, CEO of Crush.
Sara Carhart, chief operating officer at Crush, said the name of the restaurant is a nod to a lot of what goes on at the site — the crushing of a golf ball, the crushing of grapes for wine, the crushing of tomatoes for pizza.
Crush also serves a wide range of craft cocktails served over “crushed” ice (“Think Sonic ice,” Carhart said).
Those cocktails range from chocolate martinis and blood orange sangria to “crushsicles” that are made with Smirnoff vanilla vodka, orange crush soda, mango puree and cream.
Crush is the golf club’s first sit-down restaurant
The Prairie Highlands Golf Club’s clubhouse, inside of which Crush operates, recently underwent a renovation and added several new features.
The clubhouse featured a concession area before, but with the addition of Crush, the dining room now has the capacity to serve 156 customers at a time.
The clubhouse also now has a large outdoor patio (with capacity for 88 customers) overlooking the golf course, a new “pro” retail shop and an outdoor pavilion for weddings and other events.
“Upgrading to this level of facility has been pretty exciting, to get to see the transformation,” said Brownell.
The Crush team is looking forward to giving club members a new destination, Carhart said, but they’re also looking forward to providing something new for the growing southern Olathe community.
“The thing that really excites me the most is just becoming a part of this community,” she said. “Just being a place where families can come and have fun and make memories.”
