A new place for kids to “play big” has arrived in Lenexa.

Indoor playground facility Kids Empire opened its doors recently at the Oak Park Commons shopping center in Lenexa.

Kids Empire operates at 12124 W. 95th St.

  • The facility occupies a space on the north side of the Oak Park Commons shopping center, just off West 95th Street and Quivira Road — catty-corner from Oak Park Mall in neighboring Overland Park.
  • At that location, Kids Empire neighbors Sam’s Club and Northern Tool + Equipment (the latter of which used to occupy the space that Kids Empire now occupies).
  • Kids Empire operates from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

Kids Empire offers indoor play areas

  • The indoor play park features equipment like climbing features, obstacle courses, building blocks, slides and a turf soccer field.
  • Kids can play on their own, or with groups for birthday parties (for which the facility has spaces to rent).
  • The facility also has a snack bar and a retail area with Kids Empire-themed souvenirs.

This marks the second Kids Empire in Johnson County

  • The company has one other Johnson County location in Olathe.
  • Kids Empire is headquartered in Los Angeles and has more than 80 indoor play parks across the country.
  • Aside from the two Johnson County facilities, the closest Kids Empire location is in Ballwin, Missouri, outside St. Louis.
