The Kansas Highway Patrol says no one was injured in a crash involving a tractor-trailer and minivan on Wednesday evening.
Shawnee Police and Kansas Highway Patrol troopers were called to the southbound lanes of Interstate 435 just south of Midland Drive at 6:17 p.m.
Kansas City Scout traffic cameras in the area showed the tractor-trailer was stopped in the left lane, and the minivan was stopped sideways across the right lane.
According to recorded radio traffic, callers to the Highway Patrol reported that the tractor-trailer had T-boned the minivan.
Shawnee officers assisted in diverting all southbound traffic onto Shawnee Mission Parkway until the involved vehicles could be moved.
Radio traffic stated that the tractor-trailer was able to move to the exit ramp at 87th Street while officers and Highway Patrol troopers could get the minivan on the right shoulder.
The southbound lanes of the interstate reopened after an approximately 15-minute closure.
A tow truck removed the minivan, and traffic returned to normal by 7:30 p.m.
The tractor-trailer was able to continue on its way after the investigation concluded.
