What restaurants are your go-to for Christmas Day takeout in JoCo?

It’s become a tradition in our family on Christmas Day to unwrap gifts, flip on an NBA game (or in more recent years, the NFL) and, eventually, order Chinese food.

We used to live in Roeland Park and our go-to place to order from was China Star on Roe Boulevard.

Other people seemed to have the same idea. Each Christmas evening when I’d go to pick up my family’s order (every time it was crab rangoon, broccoli chicken and pork fried rice), China Star’s narrow storefront was packed with other bleary-eyed, rosy-cheeked people eager to pick up their food and head back home.

Now that my family and I have moved a bit further south to Overland Park, we’re looking for some new Christmas Day dining options. We love Chinese, but we also hear there are some good Middle Eastern restaurants that do brisk business on the holiday.
