Sandwich shop Jersey Mike’s targeting new Olathe location

The new restaurant would mark the New Jersey-based sandwich chain's second location in Olathe.

A New Jersey-based chain plans to further expand its Johnson County presence, this time in Olathe.

Sandwich eatery Jersey Mike’s has a new location in the works, coming on board as part of a growing Olathe development.

Jersey Mike’s is coming to 119th and Ridgeview

  • According to site plans, the sandwich shop would be a tenant at a new shopping center going up off 119th Street and Ridgeview in Olathe.
  • There, Jersey Mike’s would occupy the space next to The Bar at the shopping center.
  • The site is also near grocery store Hy-Vee and coffee chain Dunkin’.

Jersey Mike’s offers “fresh-sliced” sub sandwiches

  • The fast-casual eatery serves a variety of cold sandwiches like turkey and provolone, “original Italian” (with provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni) and “veggie” (which has Swiss, provolone and green bell peppers).
  • Jersey Mike’s also serves hot cheesesteak sandwiches, with either steak or chicken.
  • The new Olathe location would serve as the New Jersey-chain’s eighth Johnson County location, with one in Olathe already and others in Merriam, Lenexa, Overland Park, Shawnee and Prairie Village.

Another new restaurant is coming nearby

  • Pending construction, The Bar plans to open its new Olathe location at the same shopping center by the end of the year
  • The new restaurant will serve as The Bar’s fifth location in Johnson County, and its second in Olathe.
  • The Bar’s existing Olathe location operates at 14871 W. 151st St.
