New Indian eatery lands in Overland Park serving ‘street style’ rice and kebabs

Hashtag India serves curries, biryanis and pulavs at 119th and US-69, open until midnight most nights.

A fast-casual Indian eatery has officially made its Johnson County debut.

In April, Texas-based Hashtag India opened its doors in Overland Park.

Hashtag India opened at 10150 W. 119th St.

  • The restaurant opened in a space at the Highland Plaza shopping center, just off 119th Street and U.S. Highway 69.
  • Mediterranean eatery Sido’s previously occupied that space.
  • Hashtag India is open from 11 a.m. to midnight Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to midnight Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday.

Hashtag India offers Indian cuisine with a “modern twist”

  • The counter-service restaurant offers a variety of Indian dishes, such as curries, biryanis, pulavs and tandoori kebabs.
  • Hashtag India also serves Indo-Chinese dishes like “street style” fried rice, as well as snacks and appetizers like naan bread and veg manchurian (crispy vegetable dumplings).
  • The restaurant also serves sweets like carrot cheesecake and gulab jamun (dumplings soaked in sugar syrup).

This marks Hashtag India’s first Johnson County location

  • The new Overland Park restaurant also serves as the first in the wider Kansas City metro area for the company.
  • Hashtag India got its start in Texas, where the restaurant has seven locations.
  • Outside of Texas, Hashtag India also has locations in Nevada, Georgia, North Carolina, California, Virginia, and Maryland.
