Indoor golf is booming in Johnson County. A new simulator is coming to Olathe

Back Nine's third Johnson County location is planned near College Boulevard and Lone Elm Road, potentially opening in late summer.

Olathe golfers could soon have a new place to practice their swing — any time of day, any time of year.

Utah-based Back Nine has a new indoor golf simulator in the works in Olathe.

Back Nine is coming to 11108 S. Lone Elm Road

  • The golf simulator is coming to a space just off College Boulevard and Lone Elm Road in Olathe.
  • Olathe Northwest High School is nearby.
  • Though opening details are still being finalized, Back Nine is aiming for a late summer opening in Olathe.

This marks the third Back Nine location in Johnson County

  • The Utah-based company has two existing Johnson County locations in Overland Park and Leawood.
  • Back Nine offers memberships that come with 24/7 access to the facility, so golfers can practice any time.
  • Though Back Nine offers 24/7 memberships, non-member golfers can also book tee time during regular business hours.

Indoor golf simulators are popping up in Johnson County

  • Locally owned GolfTRK, another indoor golf simulator, opened a new southern Overland Park location in early 2025.
  • GolfTRK originally got its start in Lenexa in 2023.
  • Further north, another locally owned indoor golf simulator lounge, Par IQ, is teeing up an opening in Mission later this year.
