Café centered on gourmet toast opens in Overland Park next week

Toastique brings sweet and savory toasts, smoothie bowls and cold-pressed juices to Corbin Park on June 13.

A café known for “vibrant” gourmet toast has officially set a date for its Johnson County debut.

Washington D.C.-based Toastique will open its doors on June 13 in southern Overland Park, offering various perks for those who show up early on the opening day.

Toastique is opening at 6445 W. 135th St.

  • The café took over a space at the Corbin Park shopping center, near fast-casual Mediterranean eatery CAVA.
  • GreatClips previously occupied that space.
  • Once Toastique opens, its regular hours will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

On June 13, the first 100 customers to grab a toast will get $50 in Toastique reward dollars.

Any customers who come in after the first 100 will get a free drip coffee or small juice with any purchase of more than $10.

More perks will follow in the days after the grand opening, including:

  • Free drip coffee with any $10 purchase on June 14
  • 12-ounce juice for $5 with any purchase on June 15
  • Free coffee or espresso drink with any purchase on June 16
  • 16-ounce smoothies for $6 on June 17

This is the first Toastique in Johnson County

The new Overland Park café is also the first in the wider Kansas City metro area.

The company, which got its start in Washington D.C., serves toasts both sweet and savory — from peanut butter and banana to tomato and burrata.

In addition to toast, the cafe will serve other healthy items like smoothie bowls and cold-pressed juices.

“Overland Park has been growing exponentially for quite some time and is the perfect city to introduce the area’s very first Toastique in,” said Johnathan Willis, local franchise owner of Toastique, via a release.. “The brand brings authentic marketing and fits in seamlessly with the demographic and customer needs here, and will provide a service that they will resonate with.”
