It’s been roughly eight months since Italian deli La Fetta landed with a splash in Overland Park.
Days tend to be busy at the locally owned sandwich shop. In fact, owner Adam Bracco said, the support and enthusiasm that La Fetta has drummed up in southern Overland Park in less than a year has exceeded expectations.
“We were very pleasantly surprised by all the customers and the local support that we’ve had,” he said.
Now the shop is bringing its sandwiches and Italian goods to another eager crowd — this one further north.
Later this year, La Fetta will open a second Johnson County location in the new-look Corinth Quarter shopping center in Prairie Village.
La Fetta is coming to 83rd Street and Mission Road
- The restaurant is coming to a newly developed space at Corinth Quarter, near the corner of 83rd and Mission, across the street from Corinth Square.
- There, it will operate near a long-standing Panera Bread and a Club Pilates.
- La Fetta is targeting a fall opening for the new Prairie Village location.
La Fetta serves Italian sandwiches and treats
The menu at La Fetta features a variety of sandwiches, made with Boar’s Head meats and housemade sauces.
Some of the most popular options include the “Queen,” with turkey, bacon, fresh mozzarella, fresh walnut pesto, balsamic glaze, tomatoes and arugula, and the “Gloria,” which features ham, pastrami, Swiss, pickles, mustard and mayo. The “Gloria,” in fact, started as a rotating special that was popular enough to become permanent.
In addition to sandwiches, the deli also offers a selection of Italian goods like charcuterie boards, jarred sauces and sweet treats like cannolis.
Bracco said the Prairie Village location will essentially mirror the menu at the Overland Park shop, though some new sandwiches are currently being tested and might later appear on both menus.
The owners have personal ties to Prairie Village
Husband-and-wife duo Adam and Kelly Bracco, southern Overland Park residents themselves, opened La Fetta’s flagship location at 143rd Street and Metcalf Avenue last October.
Overland Park isn’t the only part of Johnson County the Bracco family has ties to, though. Before moving south, they lived in Prairie Village for five years.
Expanding their sandwich shop back to their old stomping grounds made a sort of nostalgic sense.
“It’s a great opportunity to get back to some of our roots, and we still have friends and family down in that area,” he said.
The arrival of La Fetta comes at a time of growth for Corinth Quarter itself, with several other new tenants planned, such as healthy eatery Flower Child and locally owned pet retailer Brookside Barkery & Bath.
“La Fetta has built a loyal following, and Corinth Quarter is a natural fit for their next
location,” said Patrick Kohnle of AREA Real Estate Advisors, which represented La Fetta in the lease transaction, via a release. “The center’s walkable environment and strong neighborhood customer base make it an ideal setting for a specialty deli concept like this.”
