Catherine Maxine Vanzant, 91, Spring Hill, Kansas passed away Friday, July 10, 2026. Visitation will be 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2026 at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S. Webster, Spring Hill, Kansas. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Spring Hill, Kansas. Catherine was born on September 19, 1934 in Pleasanton, Kansas to James and Mary Louise (Bond) Allman. She married Burley Franklin Vanzant in Olathe, Kansas on August 29,1951. Catherine was a homemaker, caring for her family. She loved to sew, solve word search puzzles and read Christian books and listen to Christian music. Her most cherished time was spent being with her family. Catherine attended Ocheltree Baptist Church.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents James and Mary Louise Allman; husband B.F. Vanzant; daughter C. Maxine Vanzant and brothers: Melvin, Dean, Thomas, Elbert, Delbert and Clinton Allman. She is survived by her daughters: Delores M. “Dee” McGlothlin ( Phil), Olathe, Kansas and Peggy Vanzant-Washburn (Danniel), Gardner, Kansas; grandchildren: Michael, Phillip and Jeremy; 12 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
