February 27, 1945 – June 29, 2026
Ralph Edward Beck, 81, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on June 29, 2026.
Ralph was born February 27, 1945, in Topeka, Kansas, to Frank E. Beck and Marie Bergmann McDonald, and was raised in Silver Lake. He served his country in the United States National Guard.
Ralph spent his career in real estate, owning and operating Century 21 Beck Real Estate in Topeka. But of all his professional accomplishments, he was most proud of the homes he designed and built in Topeka — homes where families made their lives, built with his own vision and care.
For the last three decades, Ralph made his home in Overland Park, where he was an active voice in local city politics.
Above all, Ralph loved his kids. Those who knew him also knew his lifelong passion for cars, which began with his very first — a blue Dodge Dart convertible — and never faded, later settling into a devoted loyalty to early-90s Chrysler Imperials.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Frank E. Beck and Marie Bergmann Beck McDonald, and his brother, Earl Beck. He is survived by his son, Thad Beck (Carol) of Lawrence, Kansas; his daughter, Lesa Baker (Rick) of Carrollton, Texas; his brother, Glen Beck (Nancy) of Silver Lake, Kansas; and his three grandchildren, Braxton, Ella, and MacGuire.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Silver Lake, Kansas, followed by a luncheon at Grove Township Hall.
