Olathe Police are investigating a head-on crash that killed a man on Friday morning.
The crash happened at about 9:07 a.m. on 159th Street between South Lone Elm Road and South Clare Road.
In a news release, Olathe Police spokesperson Sgt. John Moncayo said the crash involved a head-on collision between a white SUV and a dump truck.
“When officers arrived on scene, they found the driver of the SUV was a 53-year-old man and sole occupant,” Moncayo said in the release. “The man suffered fatal injuries and was declared deceased on scene.”
The man’s identity will be withheld by police until proper notifications can be made, Moncayo said.
The driver of the dump truck was not injured and remained on scene with police.
Both directions of 159th Street were closed until Friday afternoon as officers investigated the crash.
