A rock’n’roll-themed restaurant has officially left Johnson County.
After more than a decade, Rock & Brews has closed its doors in Overland Park.
Rock & Brews was at 5701 W. 135th St.
- The restaurant occupied a space at the Prairiefire development, which is just off 135th Street and Nall Avenue in Overland Park.
- There, it operated near the AMC movie theater and Made in KC at the shopping center.
- Rock & Brews opened its Prairiefire location in the spring of 2014.
Rock & Brews offered live music and “scratch”-made eats
- Alongside live rock music, customers could enjoy eats like burgers, tacos and pizzas — in addition to a variety of beers and craft cocktails.
- Via an announcement posted on the restaurant’s door this week, the brand thanked customers for their ongoing support over the years.
- “We have been proud to serve the Kansas City community, employ an outstanding team, and create a gathering place for families, friends, sports fans, and music lovers,” the sign read. “We are deeply grateful to our loyal guests, dedicated employees, vendors, and the greater Kansas City community for your support throughout the years.”
The restaurant was Rock & Brews’ only Johnson County location
- The Overland Park location was also the only Kansas City metro area for Rock & Brews.
- Rock’n’roll concert promoter Dave Furano, alongside multiple members of iconic rock band Kiss, founded Rock & Brews in 2010.
- Today, the restaurant has locations in several states, including California, Texas and Arizona.
