Mary D. Rhodes, 92, longtime resident of Overland Park, KS passed away on August 24, 2026. She was born June 12, 1934, in Seminole, OK.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She will be remembered for the love she showed her family and friends. Mary always made you feel welcome in her home, always greeting you with a hug and something good to eat. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection.
She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil; parents Albert and Mary; two of her children: Sherry Deere and Steve Garrett; three grandchildren; and four siblings.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Roseitta Johnson; son, Ward Rhodes; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be 2pm, Friday, August 28th at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 N. 94 Street, Kansas City, K
Mary’s warmth, hospitality, and gentle spirit will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved her.
