Ronald Edgar Beatty passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
He was born in Brookings, S.D. on Saturday, April 15, 1933. He graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls, S.D. in 1951. He then graduated from South Dakota State University majoring in Pharmacy in 1956. He married the love of his life, Lorene Ardelle Thomas on August 12, 1956. The marriage was blessed with four children, Jay Ronald, 1958, Debra Lorene (Fohner), 1961, Jeffrey John, 1966, and Lorinda Jo (Liles), 1968. He has since been blessed with a daughter-in-law, two son-in-laws, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1957, serving until 1960. In 1962 he was hired by Eli Lilly as a pharmaceutical sales representative, retiring in 1992.
He was a faithful Christ follower from the time of his salvation at 12 years old. He loved his Lord; he loved his wife; and he loved his family more than anything.
His life was characterized by the sweetest, most contented disposition even in the hardest of days during his later years. He was the best husband, father, Grandpa, and Papa ever and we will all miss him dearly. We wait with anticipation for the day we meet again and Jesus Himself wipes away all the tears; we love you so much!
