Marilyn Elaine Siegel, 69, of Kansas City, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in Kansas City. Graveside funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Raytown, Missouri.

Marilyn was born on December 27, 1956, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late Stanley and Rosalie Siegel. She attended Red Bridge Elementary School, Center South Junior High School, and graduated from Center High School in 1975, where she was actively involved in theater and music programs including the Missouri All State Choir and lead rolls in the musicals. She continued her love of music and art throughout her life as well as her love of Judaism.

She was a member of Beth Shalom Synagogue and, in recent years, an active participant at the Don Bosco Senior Center. Although Marilyn faced many challenges throughout her life, she was especially proud of maintaining more than 12 years of sobriety and in 2018 became a Certified Peer Support Specialist from the state of Missouri.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, Harry and Annie Levin and Harry and Jenny Siegel; her birth mother, Sister Magdalene Carole Dian Francis-Lohmar, with whom she reconnected before her passing; and her half-brother, Mark Lohmar.

She is survived by her daughter, Rochelle Hoover (Matt); her brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Lisa Siegel; and her grandchildren, Isabelle Haarhoff and Barrett Hoover, all of Overland Park, Kansas. She is also survived by her nephews, many cousins, and other loving family members and friends.

A Shivah service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Village Shalom.
