Susan Elizabeth Richards, of Overland Park, KS, was born on May 22, 1942, and passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026 after a long illness. Born in Oakland, California to William and Dorothy McTigue, Susan grew up in Oakland and graduated from St. Theresa Academy. She met her husband while working at General Motors there. After having her three children, she became a proud stay-at-home Mother.
Friends and family will fondly remember her love of pets and the menagerie of animals over the years that she rescued, found stray and took in, or adopted. Not to mention the bird feeders she kept full on both sides of her home of many years, even as her health began to fail.
Family & Survivors
Susan is preceded in death by her Spouse, Ronald Richards, parents, and siblings, Sharon Poche (Ben) and Vicky Huber. She is survived by her children Michelle Williams, Bill Richards (Lauren), Suzanne Richards-Eckart (Mark), grandchildren, Jacob, Maggie, and Ethan, as well as many cousins that she enjoyed staying in contact with, living in California, and her beloved dachshund, Greta.
Services & Memorial
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Johnson County Memorial Gardens Chapel, located at 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS.
