Susan Kathryn Parker, 78, Shawnee, Kansas passed away Monday, September 14, 2026 at Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri. Celebration of Life will be 2:00-4:00 p.m. October 3, 2026 at Town and Country Villas Club House (7101 Hedge Lane Ter). Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society. Susan was born on November 6, 1947 in Manhattan, Kansas to Vance and Kathryn (Crowder) Washington. She grew up in Manhattan where she graduated from high school. On November 20, 1965, Susan married Larry A. Parker in Manhattan, Kansas. Ten years later, they welcomed their daughter, Sarah Kathryn. She took great pride in being a wonderful host and keeping a beautiful home. Susan enjoyed decorating, gardening, and flowers. She deeply cherished being a mother and Yaya as family was her biggest joy.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents; husband Larry and sister Mary Lowman. She is survived by her daughter Sarah (Matt) Cortner, Gardner, Kansas; brother Bill (Sharron) Washington, Manhattan, Kansas; sister-in-law Nancy Parker, Manhattan, Kansas; brother-in-law Bob (Barb) Parker, Topeka, Kansas; three grandchildren: Parker, Emerson and Addison, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
