The family of Deena Lou Hallier, of Merriam, KS, is saddened to announce her passing on September 19, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on May 15, 1960, in Wyandotte County, Kansas, Deena will be remembered for her independent spirit, her love of learning and creativity, and the strong connections she made with family and friends.
A proud University of Kansas graduate, Deena earned her Master of Business Administration and remained a devoted Jayhawk throughout her life. She was an avid KU basketball and Kansas City Chiefs fan and loved cheering on her teams.
Deena took pride in her successful career in project management and pursued a variety of interests outside of work. With her dogs at her side, a fishing pole in hand, or a book nearby, she found joy in the things she loved. She had a particular passion for ceramics and other creative pursuits and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She followed her many interests in her own way, making her life uniquely her own.
Deena was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Hallier Sr. and Clara Hallier; her sisters, Carol Beauchamp and Sheryl Walker; and her husband, James “David” Faulkenberry.
She is survived by her siblings, Lloyd Hallier Jr. and La Dean Bradshaw; their families, including numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and many lifelong friends who loved her dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 6 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mary Ann Flunder Lodge by the Lake, located on the Kansas City Kansas Community College campus overlooking the pond, at 7250 State Avenue, Kansas City, KS 66112. Guests are invited to wear sports attire in Deena’s memory.
