Roeland Park turns 75 this year, and we’ve been celebrating all year long.
Rather than marking the occasion with just one big party, the City’s volunteer committees have filled 2026 with events, activities and projects that bring people together and showcase the many things that make Roeland Park special. From neighborhood gatherings and family activities to arts and cultural events, environmental projects and opportunities to simply spend time with our neighbors, the 75th Celebration Series has given our community plenty of reasons to come together.
And the celebration has been about more than just turning 75. This year, Roeland Park celebrated the opening of the Mighty Bike at R Park, planted a new butterfly garden at Roesland Elementary, celebrated progress on The Moraine apartment complex and made major improvements to sidewalks and streets throughout the City.
What has made the year especially meaningful, though, is the people behind it. Our volunteer committees, residents, local organizations and community partners have given their time, energy and creativity to make these celebrations possible. Their efforts are a wonderful reflection of the community spirit that has shaped Roeland Park for the past 75 years.
Now, we’re bringing everyone together for one final celebration.
RoeFest, Roeland Park’s 75th anniversary finale, will take place Saturday, October 3, from 1 to 6 p.m. The free community festival will feature live music, a carnival, food trucks, an artisan market, Touch-a-Truck, face painting, community organizations and plenty of opportunities to spend the afternoon with your neighbors.
RoeFest will take place at 4950 Roe Blvd., in the parking lot between Price Chopper and Lowe’s.
Whether you’ve lived in Roeland Park for 75 years, moved here last year or simply consider yourself part of the community, we hope you’ll join us.
After a year of celebrating Roeland Park’s past, present and future, we can’t think of a better way to wrap it up than by celebrating together.
