Morrie M. Joseph, 99, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning at his home with family by his side. He was born at Wesley Hospital on May 4th, 1927, to William and Esther Joseph.

Morrie was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte, with whom he shared 33 years of marriage; his son, Phil Gary; his half-siblings, Harris and Bertha; his brother, Norman; and his second wife, Dee, with whom he shared 42 wonderful years.

He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Ruth; his grandsons, Michael Joseph (Rachel) and Micah Jordan (Johnna); and his great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Matthew, and Daniel. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Beth Stokes, Eugene “Rusty” Ward, and Leah Coffman (Chris), as well as many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. “If I left anyone out, Oops!” (Morrie’s words)

Morrie never knew a stranger, and somehow, he seemed to know everyone. He had a remarkable memory and a wonderfully edgy sense of humor that kept conversations lively and brought laughter wherever he went.

Morrie’s early adult years were spent serving in the United States Navy. Throughout his life, he was a businessman, entrepreneur, and realtor who owned and co-owned a variety of ventures, from a fabric store to a home improvement business. His strong work ethic kept him actively involved in business until he retired at the age of 82.

He had a love of history and current events, Morrie always stayed informed about the news, politics, and happenings around the world. He held strong opinions and welcomed spirited conversations, continuing to engage with curiosity and enthusiasm until his final days.

Morrie considered himself fortunate to have experienced two strong and loving marriages. He lost his first wife, Charlotte, far too soon and always spoke of her with great fondness. Later, he devoted himself to caring for his second wife, Dee, until her passing.

Family was at the heart of Morrie’s life. He treasured time spent together and always looked forward to birthdays, holidays, and family gatherings. His presence, stories, wit, and wisdom will be remembered by all who knew him.

Morrie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and the many lives he touched throughout his years.
