Ronald S. Weiss, 82, of Mission, Kansas, passed away in the early morning of October 17, 2026. A Kansas City native and longtime attorney with Berman, DeLeve, Kuchan & Chapman, he devoted his professional life to the practice of law and to sharing his knowledge with fellow lawyers.

Ron was born August 31, 1944, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Edward and Mayme (Mann) Weiss. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri in 1966 and graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in 1969. Following law school, he joined Berman, DeLeve, Kuchan & Chapman, beginning a legal career that spanned more than five decades as an attorney, lecturer and author. His professional honors included selection to Super Lawyers and recognition as a Senior Counselor by The Missouri Bar. He was always willing to help young lawyers to succeed.

Ron’s love of learning extended well beyond his profession. He enjoyed discovering new things, traveling, and settling into long conversations. Ron was an avid golfer, amateur photographer and BBQ enthusiast. He appreciated a good meal, especially a steak, and cherished family brunches and the tradition of preparing the Thanksgiving turkey. His daughters loved watching Ron with his grandchildren. These occasions brought together some of his favorite things: food, conversation, and the people he loved. He enjoyed watching the home teams and was also a longtime supporter of the Kansas City Symphony.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mayme (Mann), and his dearest friend, Carolyn Kopp. He is survived by his children Julie Eisman, Susan Eisman, and Chris Kopp; and grandchildren, Brandon Brown, Mitchell Eisenbraun, Thomas Brown, Grace Brown, Etta Dyer, and Ella Brown.

Ronald will be laid to rest at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2026, at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery, 1901 Blue Ridge Boulevard, Independence, Missouri. May his memory be a blessing.
