Verna Lee Taylor Hutton passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026 at KU Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S. Verna was born May 1, 1954 in Topeka, Kansas. She spent most of her life in Olathe, where she graduated from Olathe High School in 1972. On September 26, 1976, Verna married Jeff Hutton. Together, they welcomed their son Chance Jeffrey. Verna was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother sister, aunt and friend whose love and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Verna is survived by her loving husband Jeff; son Chance (Saree); grandchildren: Brendan, Hayley, Lincoln and Brantley; brother Lorin Taylor and many cherished nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Maxine Taylor; sisters Betty Sowers and Karen Brandon and nephews Jason Taylor and Matt Owens.
Verna will be remembered with love by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched.
