April 2, 1930 – October 31, 2026
Lucille White, daughter of Clara Thom, passed away peacefully on the morning of October 31, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones.
Lucille grew up in Faribault Minnesota and graduated from Bethlehem Academy. As a young woman she moved to Kansas City and met the love of her life on a blind date. Lucille was not prepared to go on a date but her friend persuaded her to go anyway. So with a scarf added to cover the curlers in her hair she met John for a date. She must have made an impression as a second date came and they were married on October 6, 1950. Lucille held one of the toughest jobs, being a housewife and mother to 4 sons and a daughter.
She was always involved in church whether it be sitting for adoration hour or taking a turn cleaning the church. She was involved in the community and gave back by volunteering at St. Mary’s Food Kitchen.
In her retirement, Lucille enjoyed traveling, golfing (especially with her 5 iron), playing bridge, and walking Porter Park (always with treats in her pocket for her furry friends). Most of all she looked forward to hosting happy hour every Thursday night with her family. She was devoted to her family and never missed a school function, graduation, extracurricular activity, or sporting event.
Lucille is survived by her children Glen (Jeanne) White, Brian White, Alan (Jean) White, Nancy (Ron) Johnson, Craig White, 10 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a gift to St. Ann’s Endowment would be greatly appreciated. Services will be held Wednesday at St. Ann Catholic Church 7231 Mission Rd. Prairie Village, KS 66208
Visitation -10 a.m. Rosary- 10:40 a.m. Mass – 11 a.m. Followed by a luncheon in Lucille’s honor.
