Trendy athleisure and yoga lifestyle brand Alo opens new Leawood store

Fresh off its Country Club Plaza debut, Alo's first Johnson County shop sells clothing, yoga mats and skincare.

A California-based retailer has officially made its Johnson County debut.

On Friday, athleisure store Alo opened its new store at the Town Center Plaza in Leawood.

Alo opened at 4868 W. 119th St.

  • The store took over a space at the Town Center Plaza shopping center, near Gap and Athleta.
  • Previously, clothing shop Sundance occupied that space.
  • Alo is open in Leawood from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 12 p.m. through 5 p.m. Sunday.

Alo sells athletic apparel and accessories

  • The California-based brand’s inventory caters to both women and men.
  • Alo offers clothing items like sweatshirts, leggings, jackets and shoes.
  • In addition to clothes, Alo also offers accessories and wellness items such as hats, sunglasses, yoga mats and skincare products.

The Leawood store is Alo’s first in Johnson County

  • The California-based brand also has a new store on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri, which opened earlier this year.
  • That store opened in May, which marked the brand’s overall debut in the Kansas City metro area.
  • Outside of Kansas and Missouri, Alo has stores and yoga studios in several other states, such as California, Maryland, North Carolina and Texas.
