AT&T Telecommunications is now the largest employer in Mission after a significant increase in the last year.
Despite a large jump in employment of its own, ScriptPro, which has a campus just north of Johnson Drive, dropped to the number two spot among Mission employers. At the end of 2015, AT&T had 677 employees in Mission and ScriptPro had 600 employees.
The numbers come from the annual audit of the city which was recently released. According to the audit report, ScriptPro added 100 employees to its total in the last year and ATT&T, which ranked second last year, added 277 employees.
The top 10 employers in Mission account for more than 36 percent of the city’s employment. While several employers appeared on last year’s list as well as this year’s, some newcomers rose in the ranks. VinSolutions is now the third largest employer with 500 followed by Hy-Vee with 320 – a jump of approximately 70 employees for Hy-Vee. VinSolutions did not appear on last year’s list.
Rounding out the top 10 are the U.S. Post Office, Entercom, and Packaging Products Corp. all with 250 employees. They are followed by Fred Pryor Seminars (200), Geneva Roth Ventures (175) and Skillpath (160).
