Wingstop opens first Overland Park location at 91st and Metcalf

Wingstop, a national chain specializing in chicken wings, has opened its newest Johnson County location in Overland Park.

Located at 9113 Metcalf Ave., in the Glenwood Commons, the fast-casual restaurant officially launched its new franchise earlier this month in the space formerly occupied by Firehouse Subs, near the locally owned Summer Moon Coffee.

Wingstop has 11 signature wing flavors

  • Among the restaurant’s most popular flavors are garlic parmesan, lemon pepper, hickory smoked BBQ and Hawaiian.
  • In addition to chicken wings, the Texas-based company also sells boneless wings, chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders and various types of dips and sauces.

  • A third Wingstop location can now be found at 195 N. Parker St. in Olathe.
  • Hours of operation for the new Overland Park location are from 10:45 a.m. to midnight daily.

Wingstop first opened in 1994 in Texas

  • Three years after opening its flagship location in the Dallas area, the company, which is currently headquartered in Addison, Tex., began franchising in 1997.
  • Wingstop now has more than 1,400 locations across the globe, including more than 10 in the Kansas City metro.
