Made in KC, a popular retailer that sells products from local brands and makers, officially opened its newest shop over the weekend in Johnson County.
The 1,500-square-foot location, what company officials term a “neighborhood shop,” is in downtown Overland Park between Santa Fe Drive and Metcalf Avenue at 7325 W. 80th St., two doors down from Strang Hall food hall.
The grand opening for the new Made in KC shop was Saturday, coinciding with the regular weekend farmers’ market in downtown Overland Park. That followed about a week-and-a-half soft opening.
Michael Travis, the general manager for Made in KC’s neighborhood shops, told the Post previously he believes this store has the potential to be one of the retailer’s “marquee shops.”
He said shoppers should expect a wider selection of items and more local choices in the Overland Park location.
