Healthy eatery Nautical Bowls opens at Overland Park’s Bluhawk

A healthy eatery serving acaí bowls will soon celebrate its second shop opening in Johnson County.

Healthy eatery Nautical Bowls will officially open Friday at its new stand at the Bluhawk shopping center off 159th Street and U.S. Highway 69.

Nautical Bowls will operate at Overland Park’s Bluhawk shopping center

  • Nautical Bowls will open its new shop within Cosentino’s Market at 8051 W. 160th St.
  • The market neighbors T.J. Maxx on the southern end of the Bluhawk shopping center.
  • The shop will operate from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Nautical Bowls serves ‘superfood’ bowls

  • The Nautical Bowls menu features 10 ocean-themed signature bowls with different combinations of fruity bases and toppings.
  • Each bowl starts with a base like coconut, mango or pitaya and comes with a range of topping options like goji berries, coconut flakes, bananas and honey. Customers can also customize their bowls.
  • Each bowl is plant-based, gluten-free, dairy-free and soy-free.

The owners have another Overland Park store in the works

  • Franchisees Dave and Jan Rinker have been working on another southern Overland Park shop since the beginning of this year.
  • That store will operate at 11648 W. 135th St., at the Quivira Crossings.
  • It will neighbor Hakata Sushi & Hibachi and Plato’s Closet at the Quivira Crossing shopping center.
  • Owners anticipate that store opening at the beginning of October.
  • The Rinkers also plan to open a third Johnson County location in Fairway.
