One thing to know
The city of Olathe will celebrate the start of the holiday season Friday with its annual tree lighting at Stagecoach Park, near the Olathe Community Center.
Santa will stop by during the festivities and kids can get a picture with him.
The Olathe Civic Jazz Band will perform during the event as well, and visitors can check out the other holiday lights in the park as well.
The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. and are expected to last until 8 p.m.
