Infrared spa experience Glow Sauna Studios coming to Overland Park’s Bluhawk

The sauna studio marks the latest in a growing number of new businesses coming to the southern Overland Park development.

A new spa offering a “premier” sauna experience is on its way to Johnson County.

Texas-based Glow Sauna Studios has a new studio in the works at southern Overland Park’s Bluhawk development.

Glow is coming to 7951 W. 160th St.

  • The studio is moving into a space on the west side of the Bluhawk development, just off 160th Street and Lowell Avenue.
  • There, it will operate near T.J. Maxx and Cosentino’s Market.
  • Officials with the company said the new studio will open its doors later this year.

Glow specializes in infrared sauna therapy

  • In an infrared sauna room, guests sit underneath heaters that produce infrared light waves.
  • This type of therapy has been used to target benefits like cleansing pores, detoxing, increasing metabolism, and relieving pain.
  • In addition to traditional infrared sauna therapy, Glow offers other services like halotherapy (salt therapy) and chromotherapy (color therapy).

This marks the first Glow spa in Johnson County

  • The new Overland Park studio also serves as the first in the wider Kansas City metro area for the Texas-based company.
  • Glow also serves as the latest in a growing number of new businesses heading to Bluhawk — most recently following ice cream shop Betty Rae’s.
  • Clothing retailer J. Crew Factory also recently opened at Bluhawk, and fast-casual healthy eatery Saladworks plans to open there later this year.
