Healthy eatery Rush Bowls opening new Olathe location

The new eatery, serving açai bowls and smoothies, will make its Johnson County debut later this year.

A Colorado-based eatery serving “all-natural” bowls has its eye on Johnson County.

Rush Bowls, an açai bowl shop, has filed plans to open a new shop in Olathe.

Though an opening date has yet to be set, officials with the company said the shop is slated to open sometime this fall.

Rush Bowls is coming to 10524 S. Ridgeview Road

  • The shop is coming to a space at the Ridgeview Marketplace shopping center just off K-10 and Ridgeview Road.
  • Sha C’s Boutique previously occupied that space.
  • The space is also near Minsky’s Pizza and The Rub Bar-B-Que at the shopping center.

Rush Bowls serves fruit bowls and smoothies

  • The menu at Rush Bowls offers a range of “all-natural” fruit bowls — such as the “beach” bowl with a base of açai, banana, mango and guava juice, and the “aloha” bowl with a base of mango, pineapple, raspberry, coconut milk and peach juice.
  • Customers can add a variety of toppings to their bowls, such as blueberries, almond butter, chocolate chips and granola.
  • In addition to bowls, Rush Bowls serves other items like smoothies and cold brews.

This marks the first Rush Bowls in Johnson County

  • The new Olathe store also serves as the first in the wider Kansas City metro area for the Colorado-based company.
  • Rush Bowls got its start in Boulder, Colorado, and the company now has more than 50 locations across the country.
  • Besides the incoming Olathe shop, the closest Rush Bowls shop to Johnson County is in St. Louis, Missouri.
