This KC eatery is part of planned remaking of downtown Olathe. When will it open?

Third Street Social will join a growing number of new additions to downtown Olathe as the area undergoes redevelopment.

A popular Missouri-based eatery is preparing to make its Johnson County debut later this year.

Work is well underway on Third Street Social’s new location in downtown Olathe, marking the latest addition to the redeveloping area.

Third Street Social is coming to 206 W. Loula St.

  • The restaurant will occupy a space on the northwest corner of Loula Street and Kansas Avenue.
  • The space was previously used as a city technology office building.
  • The site is also near Pizza 51 and the Johnson County Administration Building.

  • The eatery has three locations on the Missouri side of the Kansas City metro area — one in the South Plaza area, another in Lee’s Summit, and another in the Northland.
  • Third Street Social’s menu offers dishes like shrimp and grits, chicken pot pie, chicken fried steak, and crab and shrimp-stuffed salmon.
  • Summit Hospitality Group, the restaurant group behind Third Street Social, owns three other restaurants in Kansas City, Missouri: Summit Grill, Pearl Tavern and Boru Asian Eatery.

Several new restaurants are coming to downtown Olathe

  • As part of ongoing efforts to redevelop downtown Olathe, several new restaurants and businesses are on their way to the area.
  • Kansas City, Missouri-based Pizza 51 served as the first new restaurant arrival, opening in an old auto shop building earlier this year.
  • Barbecue eatery Char Bar, local bar and grill Austins, and frozen yogurt shop Fifth & Emery also have new locations in the works in downtown Olathe.
