Shaved ice shop Bahama Buck’s nears opening in Overland Park

The new Overland Park shack will serve as the first Bahama Buck's in Johnson County and the wider Kansas City metro area.

A Texas-based company’s first shaved ice shack in Johnson County is taking shape.

Construction is well underway on shaved ice company Bahama Buck’s in Overland Park, paving the way for an opening in the coming months.

Bahama Buck’s is coming to 135th and Nieman

  • The shop is under construction at the St. Andrew’s Plaza shopping center in Overland Park, just off 135th Street and Nieman Road.
  • There, it will operate near the incoming Slow Rise doughnut shop and recently opened soda shop Swig.
  • Officials with Bahama Buck’s previously estimated that construction on the new Overland Park location would wrap up in late 2025 or early 2026.
