Pet supply retailer nears Lenexa store opening across from Oak Park Mall

Petco will soon reopen in a new space at the Orchard Corners shopping center in Lenexa.

A national pet retailer will soon trade Overland Park for Lenexa — though it’s just hopping across the street.

In the coming weeks, California-based Petco’s store at 11620 W. 95th St. will officially relocate into the Orchard Corners shopping center in Lenexa.

Petco is coming to 9658 Quivira Road

  • The pet supply store is moving into a space on the southern end of the Orchard Corners shopping center, just off 95th Street and Quivira Road.
  • The space was previously occupied by Stein Mart, before the clothing store closed its doors in 2019.
  • The store will reopen in its new Lenexa spot on Jan. 26.

Petco offers pet supplies of various kinds

  • The California-based company offers pet supplies and accessories like food, treats, toys, and leashes.
  • The new store serves as the first Petco in Lenexa.
  • The company also has a location in Olathe.

Petco’s new neighbor is Sierra

  • Outdoor retailer Sierra, which operates under the T.J. Maxx family of brands, opened at Orchard Corners.
  • Though the spaces are now separated, Sierra took roughly half of the former Stein Mart space, and Petco took the other half.
  • Arizona-based Sierra also has another store at the Bluhawk shopping center in Overland Park.
