A quickly growing taco eatery is preparing to debut in a new part of Overland Park.
Roughly two years after first coming to Overland Park, Kansas City-based Tiki Taco has a second location in the works there — this one further south, at a growing Overland Park development.
Tiki Taco is coming to 115th Street and Nall Avenue
- The restaurant will occupy a space on the southwest corner of 115th Street and Nall Avenue, near the Aspiria corporate campus.
- The site is also next to the Andretti go-karting and gaming venue.
- Pending construction, Tiki Taco is targeting a September opening at the development.
Tiki Taco serves “fast & fresh” tacos, burritos and more
The Kansas City, Missouri-based restaurant serves a wide variety of tacos, from Thai chicken and “dripping” birria to sweet chili shrimp and mushroom tacos.
In addition to tacos, the menu at Tiki Taco also offers burritos — such as the “KC burrito”, with curly fries, guacamole, sour cream and cheese.
The restaurant also serves side dishes like loaded “tiki” fries, chips and dip and street corn — as well as cocktails like margaritas and palomas.
Construction is already well underway at the new Overland Park site, paving the way for an opening later this year.
“It’s gonna have all of our typical Tiki brand elements — colored tiles and neons and all the fun things that everybody’s used to,” said Eric Knott, CEO of Tiki Taco.
The new Overland Park restaurant marks one of several new locations planned for the quickly growing brand this year.
Tiki Taco opened in downtown Shawnee in October 2025. Across the state line, the eatery will open new locations in Kansas City, Missouri’s Crossroads district, in northern Kansas City, Missouri, and in Liberty, Missouri this year too.
Further west in Lawrence, Tiki Taco also plans to renovate and open in a former gas station space in August.
“We’re excited to continue our growth,” Knott said.
Tiki Taco is joining a redeveloping area in Overland Park
Growth isn’t just on the horizon for the Tiki Taco brand itself. It’s also happening quickly at the Overland Park site where the new restaurant is heading.
The fast-casual taco eatery will serve as one of several new businesses planned for the redeveloping corner.
Andretti marked the first official beginning of redevelopment there, opening in late 2025.
Mediterranean eatery Meddy’s, once it opens, will neighbor Tiki Taco off 115th Street and Nall Avenue. Nearby, sports bar Yard House and upscale eatery Capital Grille also plan to open on that same corner.
Ultimately, the variety of options coming to that corner (not just in terms of both fast-casual and upscale dining, but in terms of both local and national names) is something Knott said he’s looking forward to being a part of.
“We just love that sector of Overland Park; it was just about finding the right location,” Knott said. “I think it’ll be a very interesting and exciting opportunity to be in there.”
