A Florida-based pizzeria has officially made its Johnson County debut. .
On Monday, Smokin’ Oak Wood-Fired Pizza & Taproom celebrated the opening of its new location in Olathe.
Smokin’ Oak opened 15241 W. 119th St.
- The pizzeria took over a space at the Olathe Station shopping center, on the southeast corner of 119th Street and Strang Line Road.
- Burger eatery Smashburger previously occupied that space, until it closed at the end of 2024.
- Smokin’ Oak’s regular hours in Olathe are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Smokin’ Oak serves “wood-fired” pizzas and craft pours
- The restaurant’s menu offers pizzas like the “bee keeper” (with pepperoni, jalapeño, mozzarella, basil and Mike’s Hot Honey) and the “daisy” (with alfredo, crushed red pepper, crimini mushroom, spinach, roma tomatoes, mozzarella and parmesan cheese).
- The restaurant also offers a variety of beers on tap from local breweries, such as Kansas City-based Boulevard Brewing Co. and Lawrence-based Fields and Ivy.
- In addition to pizza and beers, the menu at Smokin’ Oak features other items like salads and garlic cheese bread.
This marks the first Smokin’ Oak location in Johnson County
- The Olathe location also serves as the first in the wider Kansas City metro area for the chain — which originally got its start in Minnesota but is now headquartered in Florida.
- In addition to its home state, Smokin’ Oak has locations in seven other states (now including Kansas).
- Before its Olathe opening, the closest Smokin’ Oak location to the Kansas City metro area was in Omaha, Nebraska.
