In May of 2026, the Johnson County Community College (JCCC) Board of Trustees approved the 2026-2027 budget, which includes a modest tuition increase for the 2026-2027 academic year. Tuition increases help ensure JCCC can continue to provide the high-quality academic programs, support services, and learning experiences that students rely on every day.

    • (Tuition = $88/credit hour, Fees = $18/credit hour)

Investment in student resources

JCCC maintains a strong commitment to providing accessible, affordable education to the community. Like many colleges and universities, JCCC faces increased operating costs related to technology, instruction, and student services.

This tuition adjustment will allow JCCC to continue investment in the resources that support student success — both in and out of the classroom.

The tuition increase will support:

  • Operating cost increases for classroom technology and instruction
  • Student basic needs and mental health services
  • Institutional scholarships

All JCCC students have access to a host of student resources at no additional cost to them. Learn more about how JCCC helps students thrive at jccc.edu/student-resources.

Commitment to affordability

Despite this adjustment, JCCC still offers one of the lowest tuition rates of all Kansas community colleges and continues to rank among the most affordable colleges nationwide.

JCCC also offers financial aid, scholarships, grants, and payment options to help students manage costs. Many students qualify for assistance that can significantly reduce what they pay. During the 2025-2026 academic year, the Financial Aid Office and JCCC Foundation distributed over $22 million in grant funds and internal and external scholarships to JCCC students.

JCCC’s Financial Aid office is available to help prospective students and their families explore financial options and resources. Connect with the Financial Aid team by visiting jccc.edu/financialaid.
