England players enjoy bike ride and yoga sesh in Meadowbrook Park

England's World Cup squad enjoyed some outdoor R&R at their Prairie Village home away from home a day after a 0-0 draw versus Ghana.

Bike rides? Yoga in the park? World Cup players are just like us!

Okay, maybe not, but a few England soccer players enjoyed a relaxing-seeming morning at Meadowbrook Park in Prairie Village on Wednesday.

It came a day after the squad’s 0-0 draw against Ghana in group-stage action in Boston.

The England team posted a video and pictures on Instagram showing a half dozen players being led by trainers through some stretching with yoga mats and yoga blocks in the park.

“Recovery mode,” captioned one of the posts.

A video gave more insight into the bucolic setting, which appeared to be on the northern end of the park, possibly around “Mt. Meadowbrook,” used for sledding in more wintry times.

Among the players spotted in the team-released images were Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka and Ivan Toney.

It seems the players got to their stretching spot via bike.

Local food influencer Crystal Favela posted a video of the lads coasting by the playground at the northeastern corner of the park, near Roe Avenue, as families and children looked on.

The England team is staying at The Inn at Meadowbrook for the duration of their World Cup stay. The squad is training at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri.

England are through two group-stage matches with a win and a draw and currently sit atop Group L, with one more match to go before the knockout round begins.

They next play Saturday versus Panama in New Jersey, in a match that will decide their placement heading into the Round of 32.

This isn’t the English players’ first outing in Johnson County.

Some players were spotted at Casa de Padel in Overland Park last week, playing a variant of pickleball at the joint owned by some former Sporting KC players.

Earlier this month, a handful of players led by squad captain Harry Kane showed up at a Royals game at Kauffman Stadium to watch German-born manager Thomas Tuchel throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

“Great recovery day with the boys at the baseball,” Kane wrote on Instagram.

They seem to take their recovery seriously.
