Prairie Village Police looking for suspect in Nall Avenue hit-and-run

Police say they are looking for what appears to be a silver Mercedes, which struck a pedestrian in a crosswalk on Nall on June 1.

Prairie Village Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian on Nall Avenue earlier this month.

The police posted the notice on Facebook last week, asking for more information and urging members of the public to contact investigators if they had tips.

Police say the incident happened on June 1 at around 7:30 p.m.

The vehicle, identified as a silver Mercedes, turned from Shawnee Mission Parkway onto Nall, traveling south at a “high rate of speed.”

“It continued to drive recklessly and struck a pedestrian in a crosswalk,” police said in their Facebook post.

The pedestrian sustained minor injures, investigators said, and the vehicle did not stop.

Prairie Village Police say the vehicle as temporary tags and has “obvious damage to the rear passenger-side fender.”

Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Detective Folvarcik at 913-385-4657 or e-mail him at [email protected].
