A Florida-based pet retailer and groomer has expanded its Johnson County footprint.
This summer, Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming opened a new store on the Overland Park side of the Mission Farms shopping center.
Woof Gang Bakery opened at 4060 Indian Creek Parkway
- The shop occupies a space on the west side of the Mission Farms shopping center, just on Indian Creek Parkway and Mission Road.
- There, it operates near GoodVets, the Saint Luke’s Multispecialty Clinic, and the Village At Mission Farms apartments.
- Woof Gang Bakery is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Woof Gang Bakery is part grooming, part retail

The shop is primarily known for its “spa-style” grooming side, for which services are one-on-one (meaning dogs are dropped off and picked up one dog per groomer at a time, instead of multiple dogs in kennels waiting for their appointment).
“It’s a really less stressful environment for the dog, and we want them in and out,” said franchise co-owner Gretchen McCourt. “ “If you have a doctor’s appointment or a workout or a vet appointment right before, you know exactly when your dog’s going to start and when they’re going to be done.”
In addition to grooming, Woof Gang Bakery is also known for its array of custom dog treats and snacks.
“Everything here is going to be 100% fresh,” said franchise co-owner Brady McCourt, adding that most products are single-ingredient products.
This marks the third Woof Gang Bakery in Johnson County
The new Mission Farms is the second shop for its franchise owners, mother-and-son duo Gretchen and Brady McCourt.
The McCourt family is no stranger to animals. They share their home with multiple pets of their own; cocker spaniel mix Casey, mastiff–lab–boxer mix Kid Cudi, and tuxedo cat Cruiser.
“We love animals, and we have wanted to find a way to get involved,” Gretchen said. “We really loved their philosophy, loved the way that they treat animals, and their philosophy on (keeping) snacks and treats healthy.”
The duo also owns the Woof Gang shop further south at 151st Street and Nall Avenue in Leawood. At that other location, they said, Woof Gang has built up its roster of familiar faces — something Brady said he’s excited to get to do at Mission Farms too.
“It’s nice to kind of know that you have that trust with your clientele,” he said. “We’re really excited to get that same feeling here.”
Within the next 18 months, the McCourts hope to open a third franchise in the area. An exact location has yet to be determined, but it will likely be on the Kansas side of the metro area.
The company also has another Overland Park location under different franchise ownership, off 135th Street and Quivira Road.
The McCourts said the Mission Farms area’s mix of dog-friendly residential and and like-minded business neighbors (such as GoodVets) played big roles in their choosing it for expansion.
“We like places that are surrounded by residential, and this is such an established, great neighborhood, as is our other location,” Gretchen said. “They have been very welcoming.”
