PaPPo’s hops state line to open its first JoCo pizzeria in Overland Park

The new Overland Park restaurant marks the Johnson County debut for the Missouri-based brand.

Nearly 15 years after getting its start in Missouri, a pizzeria has officially said hello to the other side of the state line.

Last week, PaPPo’s Pizzeria & Pub opened its doors in Overland Park, marking its debut in Johnson County.

PaPPo’s opened at 7070 W. 105th St.

  • The pizzeria took over a space just off 105th Street and Metcalf Avenue.
  • Italian deli and pizzeria D’Bronx previously occupied that space before it closed in early 2025.
  • PaPPo’s is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

PaPPo’s serves “handcrafted” pizzas in various flavors

The menu at PaPPo’s features pizzas in various sizes, ranging from 8- to 14-inch pizzas.

Some of its flavors include chicken bacon cheddar, hot honey pepperoni, pesto and mozzarella, and apple bourbon pulled pork.

Customers can also build a pizza of their own, choosing from up to 17 different sauces, 15 different types of cheese, and a wide variety of toppings.

In addition to pizza, the restaurant also serves other items like salads, wings, pastas, oven-baked sandwiches, and sweets like brown butter chocolate chip cookies.

This marks PaPPo’s Johnson County debut

Founder Christopher “Pappo” Galloway, of Italian heritage himself, opened the pizzeria’s flagship location in Osage Beach, Missouri, in 2012.

Since then, the brand has grown with 10 locations in its home state. The new Kansas location is a franchise owned by Casey Chiligiris.

Outside of Kansas and Missouri, PaPPo’s also has locations in Alabama and Illinois.
