Three adults and a child have non-life-threatening injuries after a rollover crash in Olathe on Wednesday afternoon.
The crash happened at about 2:25 p.m. at the intersection of 135th Street and Black Bob Road in Olathe.
Initial information from the scene indicates that a Kia Niro T-boned an Isuzu box truck. The impact knocked the truck onto its driver’s side.
Olathe firefighters arrived on scene to report both vehicles had sustained heavy damage in the crash.
Four Johnson County Med-Act ambulances responded and transported injured people to an area hospital for treatment.
Recorded radio traffic states that a man and woman, both in their 40s, and a 3-year-old girl were inside the Kia. No one inside the SUV was wearing a seatbelt. Both adults were said to have suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the box truck, a 22-year-old man, was wearing a seatbelt.
In an emailed response to questions, Olathe Police spokesperson Maj. Joe Sudduth confirmed that all of the injuries are non-life-threatening.
The crash happened in a construction area, with the pavement milled and repaving work in progress.
Sudduth said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Police redirected traffic from westbound 135th Street to Black Bob Road, while southbound traffic was diverted to westbound 134th Street.
Tow trucks removed the crashed vehicles, and the intersection reopened just after 4 p.m.
