One person suffered non-life-threatening injuries after a hydroplaning crash on Kansas Highway 10 during Sunday evening’s rainstorms.
Lenexa police, firefighters and Johnson County Med-Act paramedics were called to the westbound lanes of K-10 west of Renner Boulevard at 7:07 p.m. for a reported rollover crash with injuries.
Recorded radio traffic from arriving paramedics reported that one vehicle was heavily damaged in the crash and came to a stop in the middle of the westbound lanes.
Arriving firefighters helped divert traffic to the right shoulder of the highway while crews assessed injuries.
Three people were checked for injuries. One of them was then taken to an area hospital, where he was said to be in stable condition.
Recorded radio traffic said the SUV was the only vehicle involved and that the driver lost control as it began to hydroplane.
Police and firefighters continued allowing traffic to pass the scene on the right shoulder until a tow truck could remove the crashed SUV from the highway.
All lanes reopened at 7:53 p.m.
No other details were immediately available.
