Another new QuikTrip is opening this week in Overland Park. This one is located near College Boulevard and Antioch Road.
After months of construction, the much-anticipated 11th Overland Park QuikTrip store opened its doors for business at 6 a.m. on Thursday.
New QuikTrip is in the Shannon Valley Shopping Center
- This new store sits near the southwest corner of College Boulevard and Antioch Road.
- The retail center also has a Big Biscuit, a Burger King, Ruchi Indian Cuisine and the recently opened European Market and Cafe.
Overland Park approved the plans well over a year ago
- Previously, a multitenant retail building sat at this corner, but crews demolished the building a couple of years ago.
- Overland Park signed off on the site’s rezoning in early 2022.
- At the time, there was some concern about traffic congestion in the area, but the vast majority of the Overland Park City Council supported the project.
- “This is an area that I would say is kind of at-risk, and so it needs some redevelopment,” Councilmember Jeff Cox said at the time. “And here we have a world-class applicant. I’ve never seen an area that a QuikTrip went into that wasn’t improved by it.”

Another QuikTrip just opened in Overland Park too
- QuikTrip celebrated its 100th Kansas City metro area store about two weeks ago with the opening of a new store at 97th Street and Metcalf Avenue in Overland Park.
- That location neighbors the new Texas Roadhouse. A Panera Bread is also planned nearby.
- It is on the edge of the property that once was home to the Metcalf South Mall.
- Overland Park has seen major improvements along Metcalf through the Vision Metcalf corridor plan, including around the intersection with 95th Street.
