2025 Mission city council election primer
There are two contested races for Mission City Council seats, in Wards 2 and 3, this year.
In addition, there are uncontested races for mayor and two other city council seats.
You can read candidates’ responses to our questionnaire below and see video of the forum the Post held earlier this fall.
Unopposed candidates were not asked to respond to the questionnaire or participate in the forum.
Mayor
- Mayor Sollie Flora, a former city councilmember, is seeking her second term as Mission mayor and does not have an opponent.
Ward 1
- Current Councilmember Josepha Haden Chomphosy, who was appointed to the seat last year, is running for a full term and does not have an oppnent.
Ward 2
In Ward 2, Joe Donaway and Sam Komosa are competing to earn the seat currently held by Lea Loudon, who is not running for reelection.

In Ward 3, Councilmember Debbie Kring is seeking her eighth full term on the city council and is being challenged by Kayla Schiller, who is not running an active campaign.
